Joy Newby Retires—Save the date for AAO Codequest

We are sad to report that long time OOS coding consultant Joy Newby has retired. Joy has provided coding assistance to OOS members and annual coding seminars since 1993. We will miss her guidance and humor and wish her luck in retirement.

Given this is a very complex upcoming year for coding changes, and we wanted to provide you with ophthalmology specific information as soon as possible, the OOS will be sponsoring the AAO Codequest course on Friday, Feb. 5. This four-hour live webinar will concentrate on explaining the new E/M guidelines, when to bill E/M versus Eye Visit codes and Test Your Knowledge of E/M Criteria.

Also included is a CPT and ICD-10 update, billing office pearls, modifier review and sub-specialty case studies. This course will be recorded and available for on-demand purchase. The Feb. 5 live webinar will offer 4 category 1 CME and JCAHPO credits. AAPC also offers 1:1 credit for live courses approved for category 1 CME.
