Help us pass bill HR 10073 to eliminate the proposed Medicare cut and include an actual payment increase to support physicians.
Recently, OSMA asked for your help contacting members of the Ohio congressional delegation to sign on to a Dear Colleague letter requesting that the latest round of Medicare cuts be replaced with a payment update. Due to your efforts and others around the country, 233 bipartisan members of Congress (140 Ds, 93 Rs) cosigned the letter.
The impact of this letter has resulted in the introduction of the Medicare Patient Access and Practice Stabilization Act of 2024 (HR 10073), sponsored by Representatives Greg Murphy, MD (R-NC) and Jimmy Panetta (D-CA). Additionally, the bipartisan legislation includes cosponsors Reps. Mariannette Miller-Meeks, MD (R-IA), Raul Ruiz, MD (D-CA), Larry Bucshon, MD (R-IN), Kim Schrier, MD (D-WA), John Joyce, MD (R-PA), and Ami Bera, MD (D-CA).
HR 10073 would eliminate the proposed 2.8% payment cut and provide a 1.8% payment update in 2025, an actual payment increase equal to one half the Medicare Economic Index (MEI), helping to stabilize physician practices and protecting patients’ access to care.
Thank you in advance for your help.
